The Poetry Wall

"The Poetry Wall" is a truly extraordinary work overlooking the Tyrrhenian coast, enriching the landscape of San Fratello with verses from classical, local, and even Gallo-Italic dialect authors. Located on Via Roccalavera, this poetic wall was conceived by Raffaella Nardone and Salvatore Crivillaro, and it was started towards the end of 2019. It is a work in constant evolution, continuously enriched by new texts, making it an original initiative aimed at redeveloping and enhancing the historic center of San Fratello through culture.
The idea of dedicating an entire wall to poetry is undoubtedly innovative and commendable, representing a fascinating way to engage both the local community and visitors in the poetic experience. The colorful and distinctive majolica tiles, decorated with Mediterranean motifs, provide the perfect backdrop for hosting verses from renowned and beloved authors, as well as from lesser-known local talents who are equally worthy of discovery and appreciation.

Among the poets featured on the wall are famous names such as Eugenio Montale, Pablo Neruda, Cesare Pavese, and many others, alongside verses from local authors that help tell the story and soul of the San Fratello community. Additionally, the presence of verses in the Gallo-Italic dialect adds further charm and authenticity to the work, highlighting the linguistic and cultural richness of the region.
Therefore, we can say that "The Poetry Wall" represents a true artistic and cultural treasure for San Fratello, offering a unique and engaging experience that celebrates the beauty and power of words, while contributing to making the historic center of the town even more lively and welcoming.
