The Society of Soldiers in Retirement has a long history that dates back to the year 1900, when it was founded as a new incarnation of a pre-existing organization that had been present in San Fratello since the 1800s. Over the years, this society has played a fundamental role in providing assistance and mutual support to its members, fulfilling the duties of mutual aid and contributing to the well-being of the local community.
A particularly significant element within the Society is its prestigious brass band. This musical group has earned a notable reputation for its high-level performances and its ability to engage the audience. The brass band not only entertains the local community but has also performed in various parts of Italy, bringing its talent and musical art on tour throughout the country.
Moreover, the brass band has acquired a special role as the Brass Band of the Jews, thus helping to preserve and promote the unique cultural and folkloric traditions of the Nebrodi region. Thanks to its commitment and skill, the Brass Band of the Soldiers in Retirement has contributed to spreading knowledge and appreciation of the culture and music of San Fratello throughout Italy.
